Gosfield Hall

What they say....

One of England's Premier Wedding Venues, built in 1545 by Sir John Wentworth, a member of Cardinal Wolsey’s household, Gosfield Hall hosted Royal visits by Queen Elizabeth 1 and her grand retinue throughout the middle of the 16th century.

Gosfield Hall was remodelled during the 18th century and the magnificent Ballroom added and the deer park landscaped to become the family home of the Marquis of Buckingham.

Later during the French Revolution, Gosfield Hall became the home of King Louis XV111 and his Queen Marie-Josephe-Louise of Savoy who had fled France and the guillotine to live in grand style with more than 350 courtiers and staff in attendance from 1807 to 1809.

The magnificent interiors and elegant historic facades of the building remain through to today, when Gosfield Hall entered another phase in it's history as one of Britain’s most sought after venues for marriages and wedding receptions.

The rich elegance of the interior of Gosfield Hall makes it as unique today as it was as a Royal residence in the early 19th century. The Queen Charlotte's Oak panelled gallery with a 120 ft long aisle is perfect a grand entrance to your ceremony whilst the newly licensed carriageway provides a unique setting for outdoor ceremonies on sunny days.

The Marquis of Buckingham's former Ballroom provides a stunning setting for the reception meal for up to 110 guests and there are also several grand and ornate reception rooms, as well as a private bar and disco area for you and your guests to enjoy.

In addition, 21 luxury bedroom suites are offered to you exclusively for the night of your wedding ensuring, the perfect end to the perfect day.

Located just 8 miles from Braintree and close to the M11, Gosfield Hall is easily accessible from London whilst providing the perfect rural setting for your wedding day.
